I’ve been working for some time now on a short story–a “ghost story”. I’m wondering now, what would a twenty-something couple do about an apparition that makes brief appearances and otherwise causes no trouble (if you discount the startling effect she has on folks). Considering that they are both bright, college-educated professionals (he’s an engineer and she teaches piano), I can’t see them calling in the ghost hunters or having a séance. Neither wants to move–it’s their dream home where they want to raise a family. A few other people have caught glimpses of the ghost also. So what action will they take? If I use your suggestion, I promise a contributor’s copy (if I get that much remuneration for this story).
Which brings me to another subject. I’ve been looking at Smashwords. Do any of you buy books or stories on that website? If so, what do you have to say about that?
